Swiftie January Dates

January is the last full month before the Eras Tour starts again and we’re in the calm before the storm - if storms included livestreams to watch and a Rep TV announcement to look forward to.

My 2 cents on Golden Globes

We've certainly made progress as a society, but it's disheartening to see the persistence of age-old stereotypes dictating how women are expected to respond to jokes at their expense. We're expected to laugh, smile through it, be polite. After all, it's not that serious! Why can't we take a joke? In Taylor's own words in an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, 'A man is allowed to react. A woman can only overreact.'

I've seen far too much commentary about how Pedro Pascal has the ability to take a joke (referring to Succession actor Kieran Culkin, who beat The Last Of Us Star in Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, sledging him on stage) and that women like Gerwig and Swift should take a leaf from his book.

I want to say this to everyone who wanted Taylor and Greta to laugh: 'Women can take a joke, just not disrespect.'

Awards shows, please do better! If you can't uplift women, don't degrade them.

People's Choice Awards 2024

PCA will be hosted by our very own Ken Simu Liu. He is a self-proclaimed Swiftie, having attended the red carpet premiere for the Eras Tour concert film. He also told Jimmy Kimmel in October that he loves "all the eras," but personally, is a fans of Reputation and 1989.

Yesterday, simu Liu shared this story on his Instagram, and what he wrote was an absolute KING BEHAVIOR! ‘No jo koy/Golden Globes were harmed’ 😉🤭

Taylor's nominations for PCAs

She is nominated in five categories:

1. Concert tour of the year for The Eras Tour

2. Movie of the year for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour

3. Social celebrity of the year

4. Female artist of the year

5. Pop artist of the year.

Meanwhile, Travis is nominated for athlete of the year, marking his first-ever People's Choice Award nomination.

Fans can vote once per day for the 2024 People's Choice Awards from now through Jan 19 at 11:59 p.m. ET at the awards show's website. Votes cast on "Turbo Tuesday" — Jan 16 — Will count twice.

Now, before you get too excited, I sadly have to mention that it's very unlikely that Taylor will attend the People's Choice Awards. For those not following the International leg of the Eras Tour, taylor is performing at the Melbourne Cricket Grounds in Melbourne, Australia, on Sunday, Feb. 18—the same day as the PCAs.

However, Australia is 19 hours ahead of Santa Monica, Calif., where the ceremony is taking place. So, if taylor jumps on a plane and heads straight for the awards show, it may still be possible. Although, that sounds wildly exhausting for a couple of prizes.

We may just have to be patient for that red carpet debut! Mama needs to rest y'all.
